The Nuovo Metrò is located on Viale Monza, very convenient to the Turro stop on the red metro line, connected with the central part of Milan where the Duomo is situated, or Stazione Centrale with a change at Loreto. The hotel is easy to reach from the tangenziale est which is 2 kilometers away from it (Cascina Gobba exit). Close to some of the most important hospitals in the city, Nuovo Metrò is 2 metro stops from Istituto Ortopedico Gaetano Pini, known throughout Italy for highly specialized orthopedic operations and 500 meters from Ospedale Ville Turro (San Raffaele Turro), a historic hospital specialized in psychiatric treatment.
The main San Raffaele Hospital building is in Via Olgettina and is just a ten minute car ride or slightly longer ride on bus 44 from Viale Monza, getting off 15 stops later at Via Padova / Via Rizzoli, 700 meters from Via Olgettina and the San Raffaele Hospital. Founded in the 1970's it is currently a highly specialized internationally recognized hospital for the most important pathologies and a one of the most famous research centers in the country.
Hotel Nuovo Metrò is also near (500 meters away) Sirti, an engineering company which creates telecommunications networks and systems, with headquarters Via Stamira d'Ancona, and the Telecom Italia offices (one kilometer away) on Via Giacosa.
For spare time activities,
Piazzale Loreto is three metro stops way, where
Corso Buenos Aires starts, one of Milan's most famous streets for
shopping. A long promenade with more than 350 stores of all types, with affordable prices and where good deals are to be found during the sale periods at the beginning of the summer and after Christmas.
The metro will also take you to the
heart of Milan, the
Duomo, in 10 minutes. With its 3400 statues and beautiful stained glass windows, it is the most important international Gothic work in Italy. The facade is crowned by the tallest spire where the great statue of the "Madonnina" stands out, the inspiration for a famous Milanese song.
The square contains other important sights including
Galleria Vittorio Emanuele on the right, known as Milan's salon and slightly back on the left, Palazzo Reale: in the form of a cross, with its impressive iron and glass exterior, the Galleria is a pleasant place to stroll amongst the cafes, restaurants and bookstores; Palazzo Reale is a much-treasured eighteenth century building, today home to major temporary exhibitions.
